Logo Evolution & Brand Identity Refresh
Background
Jersey Shore Elite is a competitive basketball program run by Coach Dawn Karpell of Saint John Vianney Fame. JSE is dedicated to developing young athletes’ skills and fostering team excellence. As the program grew in recognition and prestige, leadership realized the need to modernize its visual identity to reflect professionalism, energy, and regional pride.
The Old Logo (Left)
The previous logo incorporated bold, blocky typography with the words Jersey Shore Elite positioned above a basketball net, with a ball dropping through.
Strengths
- Immediately recognizable as basketball-related.
- Strong, bold font conveys toughness and athleticism.
- Use of gold created a sense of prestige.
Weaknesses
- Dated design style; lacked polish compared to modern sports branding.
- Net and ball illustration was busy and harder to reproduce at smaller scales.
- Did not emphasize the regional identity of Jersey Shore or New Jersey as clearly as it could.
- Limited versatility for digital platforms, uniforms, and promotional materials.
